Portfolio Update: Web Banners Added
Posted: 05/15/2008I finally got around to adding some of the web banners I've created to my portfolio. Actually, I shouldn't say I just got around to it because I've actually been working on it for some time. The reason it took so long was because I was building a CSS pop-up system (a la iStockPhotos) so that when you roll over the thumbnail the full size image will appear next to it (banners only).
I started out implementing Flash into because some of the banners are animated and were built in Flash. Unfortunately, this was causing the page to load forever so that idea went out the door. I ended up retro-fitting this little set-up into the page. Instead of using a span tag, I went used a DIV container (no, not inside an anchor tag...more on this later) which then allowed me to use some cool transparent PNG effects (tape).
Any-hoo, I'll be writing up a brief tutorial on how I did the CSS pop-up and stuff in the following week.
