I recently completed my first video production project. The client was Weedex Lawn Care and the project was to create a customer testimonial video emphasizing the benefits of their services (vs. DIY) and cost efficiency.
Working in cooperation with Andy Slipher we visited with four different Weedex customers to get their impressions of Weedex’s service and costs. Shooting took little less than a day with Andy interviewing the customers and myself filming using a Canon HV10 high-definition camera. Audio was recorded into a Macbook Pro using a shotgun mic. and Final Cut Studio’s Soundtrack.
After filming was complete, I went into post-production with direction from Andy on how to order our footage. I then used a combination of After Effects and Motion 3 to create the intro and ending to the video.
Overall, Weedex was extremely pleased with the final production and while there are things I would do differently, I’m also very happy with how this turned out (especially being my first video to shoot).
I would like to thank Jason Levy over at Levy Media for providing techincal advise on using Final Cut Pro. It proved to be invaluable.
